News: Signature Theatre Announces Hiring of Valerie Bunns

NEW DIRECTOR OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION HAS MORE THAN 20 YEARS OF NON-PROFIT MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE


Arlington, VA – Signature Theatre announces the hiring of Valerie Bunns as Director of Finance and Administration. Bunns brings more than 20 years of non-profit management and experience to the organization. She has held leadership positions in charitable, membership and healthcare organizations in areas of finance, accounting, treasury, and business operations, including the management of a shared service center.

As Director of Finance and Administration, Bunns will hold responsibility for all financial records, oversee Human Resources, lead the audit and tax return processes, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and manage all accounting operations.

Prior to accepting this position, Bunns was the Controller with The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) for 10 years and reported to the President & CEO. She also served in senior leadership roles with the American Diabetes Association and The Association for Supply Chain Management (APICS).

In addition to professional qualifications, Bunns has enriched her community with her experience for over two decades. She developed the tutoring program at the Shelter House, Inc., where she served on the board fundraising committee. At Friends of Guest House, she helped develop independent living budgeting skills for women reentering into the community from incarceration.

Bunns holds a MBA from Marymount University and a BBA from the University of Mississippi. In addition, she completed an executive education program at Dartmouth College’s Tuck School of Business.
