Signature Theatre offers several accessibility options to ensure our Theatre is welcoming to everyone.
Patrons Who Are Deaf or Have Hearing Loss
New! GalaPro Free Closed Captioning Mobile App
Signature now offers free real-time closed captioning at every performance through the GalaPro mobile app, which is now available for Apple and Android mobile devices and tablets. Patrons who use captioning will not need to attend a special captioned performance; and patrons who use our assistive listening system will be able to augment their experience with GalaPro captions. GalaPro is now available for performances of Grand Hotel, Spunk and Blackbeard.
GalaPro is funded in part by the Philip L. Graham Fund and the Macfarlan Family, in honor of Winnie Macfarlan.
Assistive Listening Devices
Thanks to generous donations from Mary Ann Gilleece and Lola C. Reinsch, we have a brand new Sennheiser Assistive listening system installed to improve the quality and clarity of sound for our patrons who are hard of hearing. In addition to earbud receivers, we also have the ability to support headphones or to connect to t-coil hearing aids. Devices are available for use free of charge at coat check in The Mead Lobby. We will ask you to leave your driver’s license or other ID while using the device.
Open Captioned Performances
Signature offers a schedule of open captioned performances for each mainstage show to make the Theatre more accessible for those who are hard of hearing or deaf.
The list of remaining 2018/19 Captioned Performance dates is below. Please contact the Box Office at email@example.com, via TTY using state relay services or call 703 820 9771 to reserve your seats in the Theatre.

Patrons with Mobility Needs

Tickets are available online (noted with wheelchair icons for wheelchair accessible seating and the letter C for companion seating), but we recommend calling the Box Office at 703 820 9771 so that we can discuss which seating options will best meet your needs.
Parking is available in specially marked spaces in each of the garages. For the closest access, we recommend the bottom floor of the Randolph Square or Campbell garages. Click here for a detailed parking map.
For any patron who requires assistance getting in and out of our performances spaces Signature offers an on-site courtesy wheelchair. Please request this service before arriving at the theatre and a member of our team will be happy to offer assistance when you arrive.

Patrons with Hearing Sensitivity
For our hearing sensitive patrons who find the sound in our intimate theatre spaces is too loud, Signature offers complimentary ear buds for any performance. Ear buds assist in dampening the sound of the production. Patrons should request a set of earbuds from any staff member or volunteer.
Patrons with Bright Light Sensitivity
For our patrons who find the lights in our theatre spaces are too bright, Signature offers complimentary dark glasses for any performance. Dark glasses assist in reducing the impact of stage lights and glare reflected at some angles. Patrons should request a pair of dark glasses from any staff member or volunteer.
Patrons with Attention Disabilities/Hearing Disabilities/Low Vision
Signature offers printed scripts of every mainstage production. Printed scripts can be requested from the Box Office for any ticket holding patron. Though scripts are not permitted to leave the premises, printed scripts can be viewed in our lobby anytime before or after a performance. Please contact the Box Office for information about printed script availability.
