News: Signature Theatre adds show about Broadways George Rose - The Washington Post
George Roses life included Tony Awards in the 1970s and 1980s for the musicals My Fair Lady and The Mystery of Edwin Drood. His death came violently in 1988 under murky circumstances in Haiti, where Rose apparently was carrying on with a teenage boy.
Roses friend and colleague Ed Dixon has created a solo show about the man he knew, and today Signature Theatre announced theyll produce the premiere. Georgie: The Life and Death of George Rose, written and performed by Dixon, will be in Signatures intimate Ark stage Jan. 8 – Feb. 7, to be directed by Signature artistic director Eric Schaeffer.
