Private Jones
World Premiere Musical
A gripping, inspiring and unexpectedly funny world premiere musical adventure about a deaf Welsh sniper in World War I.
After losing his hearing, Gomer Jones is left behind when the rest of the young men enlist. However, when fresh recruits are needed, he fakes his way into a battalion alongside a group of colorful, misfit trainees. Once the “bastards,” as they call themselves, reach the front, Jones becomes a celebrated sniper, but getting everything he thought he wanted might mean losing himself in the process.
With rousing songs and an innovative soundscape, and featuring a cast of hearing, Deaf and hard-of-hearing actors, Private Jones is an exhilarating musical experience unlike anything else.

Private Jones Bar Specials
Head to Ali’s Bar in the Mead Lobby on the 2nd floor to enjoy our Private Jones inspired specials:
The Bastard’s Favorite
This Cornish Pasty is filled with onion, carrot, celery, garlic, potatoes and rutabaga which are mixed with brown mustard and Gruyére cheese, then baked until the crust is nice and crispy. Served with a side salad with your choice of dressing.
Private Scones
During wartimes, sugar was a highly rationed item forcing army chefs to get creative with how they sweetened their dessert. So, we made these crumbly scones with chopped dates to enhance their buttery flavor with some sweetness.
No Man’s Land
The drink of choice in the trenches, this historically inspired cocktail is a delicious and warm beverage of rum, black tea and lemon juice with a touch of honey syrup.
