Walter, a recently single father to a spunky seven-year-old daughter, struggles to navigate the world of single parenthood with dating and learning to live again. The latest work by Audrey Cefaly (The Gulf) is a thoughtful, funny and quietly beautiful journey from loneliness and depression to hope and love – and what it means to be a family.
The Story of Walter is presented as part of SigWorks: Monday Night Play Readings, an initiative that highlights and supports the work of DMV and regional playwrights. This series is an opportunity for playwrights, actors, directors, and patrons to explore new plays in a fun and informal environment. To learn about our other SigWorks programs visit our SigWorks page.
Readings take place on Signature’s YouTube page and will be followed by a live discussion of the play with writer Audrey Cefaly and director Holly Twyford.
New work at Signature Theatre is sponsored by Dan and Gloria Logan.
SigWorks: Monday Night New Play Readings is sponsored by the Jenna and Paul Segal Foundation through the Heidi Thomas Initiative, in support of new work created and staged by women in the American theater.
