Sondheim's hilarious masterpiece provides nonstop laughs as the irrepressible Pseudolus, played by comic genius Floyd King, works his wiles in pursuit of love and freedom. The musical score is as classic as its ancient Roman roots - from "Comedy Tonight" to "Everybody Ought to Have a Maid" to "Pretty Little Picture." Director Gary Griffin, whose production of Sondheim's Pacific Overtures took Chicago by storm and was re-staged this summer at London's Donman Warehouse, makes his DC-area debut at Signature. Griffin's fresh, zany spin on Forum reinvents Sondheim's wittiest musical comedy. This is Signature at its best!
