"The Song of the Brown Buffalo" from THE UNTITLED UNAUTHORIZED HUNTER S. THOMPSON MUSICAL

June 20, 2025

In The Untitled Unauthorized Hunter S. Thompson Musical, Joe Iconis has created a musical portrait of the great Gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson that is as fiery and unpredictable as the man himself. Over the course of the show, we are introduced to people who came into Thompson's life, including the Chicano activist and lawyer Oscar Zeta Acosta. In "The Song of the Brown Buffalo," Acosta blazes onto the scene, completely changing the power dynamic and showing both us and Hunter exactly who he is in music and in lyrics.
