The Signature Show: New Performances and Signature in the Schools

Episode 11

March 2, 2021

On this episode of The Signature Show, Associate Artistic Director Matthew Gardiner sits down with composer Nolan Williams, Jr. (Grace, Stirring the Waters Across America) to discuss his work and creative process. This episode also features an exciting new dance piece choreographed by Denis Jones (Crazy for You) filmed on NYC’s High Line to “Sh-Boom (Life Could be a Dream),” members of The Black Artist Coalition performing Williams’s stirring song “Selflessness,” and Ashley Spencer (Crazy for You) singing the Gershwins’ timeless classic “Embraceable You.”

You also won’t want to miss a clip from this year’s Signature in the Schools play Here’s the Deal featuring talented local high school students, as well as a conversation with Signature’s Education Director David Zobell and playwright Caleen Sinnette Jennings.
