Signature Community Agreements

SIGNATURE IS A COMMUNITY WHERE INDIVIDUAL EXPERIENCES MATTER
Signature aims to create a space that is welcoming to all. Everyone belongs here and we come together in this space as one community - artists, staff, audiences, neighbors. Signature is a place of kindness, care, and joy where all people can bring their uniqueness to the experience. 

Not everyone will think or act as you do in the theater, and that’s OK - choose empathy over judgement.     

TO EACH THEIR OWN
Here at Signature, our hope is that you will connect with live theater in a personal way. Our art may evoke certain emotions, thoughts, or even vocal reactions for our audience members, and that’s great! Whether it's your first time here or 50th, please remember respect is key as we share energy in our intimate theater spaces.   

PERSONAL SPACE IS PERSONAL
Are you a hugger? Lots of us are, some of us aren’t. Space is personal. Ask before you enter someone else's.  

VOICES CARRY
Signature is an intimate theater, which is part of what makes it so special. Things that might be lost in a bigger theater are seen and heard by the audience and performers. Help us by minimizing distractions. Checking your phone, conversations (even whispered), late arrivals, audible alarms and notifications, and crinkly wrappers prevent folks from fully immersing themselves in the world of the performance.  

This doesn’t mean we don’t want you to respond to the show – react vocally, clap, say bravo, give a standing O! 

EXPRESS YOURSELF
Dress up! Dress down! Showing the world who you are is welcome at Signature.  

WORDS HAVE IMPACT
Signature welcomes your feedback and encourages you to share what you experience while you engage with us. As you do so, remember that words can have a big impact. They can lift someone up or tear someone down. Sometimes a single word can change everything.
