“Tell me about a complicated man.
Muse, tell me how he wandered and was lost.”
– The Odyssey
Homer (translation: Emily Wilson)
January 28, 2017. An executive order signed by the President sends three complicated and lost individuals wandering on their own homebound odysseys. As one searches for his lost father, another searches for his detained uncle and another searches for connection to her faraway home. Searching for hope and for home, their lives become entwined with Homer’s ancient text in beautiful and life-altering ways. This original play continues Signature in the Schools’s tradition of exploring serious issues with exciting theatricality.
Written by Director of New Works Joe Calarco, this world premiere features a cast and crew of Arlington County Public Schools students and Syrian actor Mohamad Alrefai.
Signature in the Schools, Signature Theatre’s flagship education program, is a multifaceted program that encompasses workshops for English, Social Studies and Theatre classes, theatrical training for young artists, and the creation of an original play.
Important Note Regarding Reserved Tickets
Reserved tickets are only valid until 15 minutes before the posted start time of the show, and patrons with reserved tickets must be seated by that time to guarantee a general admission seat. Any remaining seats by that time will be given to patrons in the standby line.
