Wakefield High School senior and Signature in the Schools alum Devin Andy was recently awarded the first Andrew A. Isen Young Artist Gift by Signature Theatre. The gift of $2,500 is awarded to a graduating Arlington high school senior from the Signature in the Schools program who has demonstrated excellence in their work. Devin was the Signature in the Schools sound board operator from 2016-2018 and worked on the world premiere productions of 295N, Smile Lines and 12 Million Footsteps.

“The Signature in the Schools program has helped me find a passion for the arts I would not have known I had otherwise,” said Devin Andy. “I plan to major in music therapy, so I will be using my art as my career. I want to help people the way that music therapists have helped me. This generous gift will help to pay a portion of my tuition at Shenandoah Conservatory.”

The award is funded through a generous gift by Andrew A. Isen and was created to provide opportunities for young people who aspire to a career in the arts. The students will have the freedom to use this money however they best see fit for educational purposes.

“Establishing this program in conjunction with Signature Theatre, one of the most esteemed theatres in the country, is a natural fit,” said Andrew A. Isen. “Signature offers highly successful educational programs to talented, early-stage artists for whom a financial gift would make a positive impact. I look forward to watching the recipients grow and pursue their careers.”
